I studied at Ivy Tech Community College in Valparaiso, IN. During my first semester there I started off designing 3D trade show booths using Solidworks at a job. I usually designed my own graphic placeholders for the booths to make the client want the booth.
Then I decided I didn’t like being an engineer so I ended up working for Simko Signs as a graphic designer/production manager, and I love it! I help organize our jobs, we print, cut vinyl, create a variety of graphics for anything! Which includes logos, channel letters, vehicle wraps, and even skateboard designs!
I’m so proud how the skateboard design turned out because it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to achieve it. And of course, Jeff provided a rough drawing of the alien. The skateboard represents an alien looking out his window as he sees his world being destroyed. Essentially it’s a war, but the theme is a comic. It looks bright, colorful, and fun; yet there’s a war going on. I will forever be proud of this design.
